Kevin "The CADiator" Mukbel offers his advice for reducing the impact of scrolling on your mouse hand.
"With a wheeled mouse, rolling the wheel will zoom the drawing in and out around the cursor. But you are all too familiar with that, right? To avoid RSI (repetitive strain injury) of the finger, try setting the zoom to a more workable 70% or 80% with the ZoomFactor system variable, and you'll get more zooming with less scrolling. On the Command line, type ZoomFactor, and change it to 70% or 80% or whatever you like. Happy zooming!"
Notes from Cadalyst Tip Patrol: ZoomFactor is also a great way to pull a harmless prank on a fellow AutoCAD user! Set it to its smallest setting, 3, and it will take your victim forever to zoom in or out of a view! The higher the number (the maximum is 100), the greater the change when you zoom. The lower the number, the lower the change. The default setting is 60.
