Modify your export options in Revit so that the resulting DWG file can be tailored for your specific needs.

Tipster Andria Lynch sent this Revit tip.

“Using layer modifiers in your export to CAD settings will help you separate your phases into layers. By adding a phase modifier, you can separate a category such as walls into existing walls, new walls, or demoed walls with the appropriate naming convention for your DWG files. Add the phase status category before or after your element category to get a prefix or suffix of the phase added to your layer. You can set the show-all-phase filter for your view to get a file that has existing, new, and demolished items in one DWG file!"

Notes from Cadalyst tip reviewer R.K. McSwain: Exporting data from one application to another is not always as simple as one step. This tip shows you how to modify export options in Revit so that the resulting DWG file can be tailored for your specific needs.
