Have you ever been asked to send a very large, detailed Inventor file to a client? Here is a way to reduce file size for transmitting large, complex parts.

First, open the part you want to transmit. Perform a Save As command, select the file that is open, right-click on the file, and select Properties. This will tell you the file size of the part.





In the Browser, select End of Part and drag it toward the top.



After pulling End of Part to the top of the browser, notice the part seems to disappear.



Get the properties of the file (same as above step); notice the reduction in file size.



Note that you can see how the person created the model we used by dragging End of Part down past each feature; this will step you through the process used to create the model.
