Txt2Mtxt is an old Express Tools command that will convert any single-line text object to a multiline text object.

Perry Pattiz, a mechanical engineer, discusses an AutoCAD command that will convert single-line text objects to multiline text objects.

"I frequently work with old drawings that used the original Text command for notes and item descriptors that identified every line of text by itself. There is a command called Txt2Mtxt that allows you to select several individual lines of text and combine them together into a single mtext item. This new item can then be edited and formatted with all of the mtext capabilities such as automatic word wrapping and text formatting. This is an invaluable tool for updating old drawings."

Notes from Cadalyst tip reviewer Brian Benton: Txt2Mtxt is an old Express Tools command. It’s great: It will convert any single-line text object to a multiline text object. It will also combine several single-line text objects into one multiline text object. I have used this command many times to combine a series of notes made from single-line text objects into one multi-line object. That makes editing much easier, especially when the text needs to wrap to the next line or if the notes need to be renumbered or repositioned.

Peter, yes you are correct. Express Tools are not included with and do not work with AutoCAD LT
