The tools in this tip allow you to browse through the files of a sheet set or project folder without opening a single CAD file.

Leonid Nemirovsky demonstrates tools in the Sheet Set Manager that will allow you to browse through the files of a sheet set or project folder without opening a single CAD file. Len offers two methods: one is through saved views and the other one looks at what is in the Model Space tab of each file.

"If you have several views (or just one) saved in the paper space of the drawing, you can view them from Sheet Set Manager; just click on the Sheet View tab. Note that the size of the view can be set to Small, Medium, or Large (pixels); just right-click in the Sheet Set area.

"If you have views saved in model space, click on the Model View tab. At first you will see nothing; you must browse to the folder where your drawings are located and select it before the drawings will display. Select a drawing, right-click it, and you will see your available options: Open, Open Read Only, Place on Sheet, See Model Space Views, eTransmit."

Notes from Cadalyst Tip Patrol: Borrow one of Len’s suggestions when you need to check the contents of project files but want to avoid the time-consuming task of opening every drawing. Tested in AutoCAD 2010
