Use the Flatshot command to generate orthogonal views from 3D objects.

Ian Whistler, a piping drafter, sends us a tip on using the Flatshot command to generate orthogonal views from 3D objects.

"Flatshot is a command that I use quite often to generate ortho views from models. It creates 2D linework from all of the 3D objects shown in the current view. To use it, find the view of the model that you want to have drawn, and type flatshot on the command line.

"Flatshot makes the views as a block. You can replace an existing block, assuming you updated your model and need to replace the view, create a new block, or create a block that will be saved as a drawing. "The views might look a little funny when the command is used on an isometric view, but copying the line work out of the block editor and pasting it back into the drawing as a block can fix this."
