Many times I have been asked what type of files Autodesk Inventor can export. Here is a quick tip that shows you an easy way to find available formats Inventor has for exporting models and drawings.

For a 3D model:
First, open a model you would like to export to another format for transferring.
Using the Inventor pull-down menu, select Save As/Save Copy As.

In the Save Copy As dialog box, pick the down arrow on the Save As type row.

This is a list of available export formats.

For a 2D Inventor drawing or IDW:
Follow the above steps, but notice the different file types available for export.
