Use this technique for centering a plane between parallel surfaces.

David Edward Gaskill sent this useful Inventor tip.

Start with a part that has two parallel surfaces. Pick the Work Features option and the Plane option from the flyout menu on the 3D Model tab of the ribbon.


Select the two faces' parallel surfaces. A plane will be created at the center of the two surfaces.


The plane will move as you increase or decrease the size of the part.
