Place text that's scaled correctly for any given plotted height in model space, a layout, or inside a viewport.

Glenn White submitted two functions that allow you to place text in model space, a layout, or inside a viewport, and it is scaled correctly for any given plotted height. Both routines assume that a valid dimscale has been assigned and that text style heights are set to zero (0). The correct height is calculated based on the dimscale. Load the LISP code and type Te (for Text) or Mte (for mtext) at the AutoCAD Command prompt. Next, enter the desired text style or press Enter to accept the current text style. Next, enter the desired plotted text size — for example, 0.08. After you press Enter, either the Text or Mtext command is initiated with the correct size calculated for you.
