Dale Miksch's latest tip helps ensure that your mouse's scroll wheel is set to pan in AutoCAD.
"I see so many users select the pan icon from the toolbar when they want to use the Pan command. Instead, put it at your fingertips by using the command MButtonPan, and set the value to 1. Then you can pan by pressing the middle button or wheel on your mouse!" Notes from Cadalyst Tip Patrol: Panning with the scroll wheel is a great innovation that saves time and effort. Users can pan without thinking, and can start the command with next to no effort. Moving the mouse to reach for the pan button is more work — get more accomplished by doing less work!
Recent versions of AutoCAD have MButtonPan set to 1 by default, meaning it is turned on when you first start AutoCAD. However, sometimes customizations happen, or settings get changed, so you'll need to adjust the setting as described above. |
