Frequent tipster Leonid Nemirovsky shares a method of navigating in AutoCAD’s model space to where your paper space viewports would be.
"If you have a lot of viewports in paper space and need to navigate among them quickly when working in model space, then try this simple trick. While in paper space, click inside a viewport. At the Command prompt, type V to create a new view (give it a meaningful name). Repeat for all viewports and name the views. Now when you're in model space, you can jump from one view to another as needed. Just type V (or any other way you prefer) and select the desired view."
Notes from Cadalyst Tip Reviewer Brian Benton: This is a good trick; it can help you navigate in a large or complicated file. If your file has multiple paper space tabs for multiple drawings, then this trick can help you find the right place in model space. Once the files are saved (if you are using AutoCAD 2012 or higher), you can easily navigate to them through the in-canvas view controls. |
