Leonid Nemirovsky provides this very simple means of switching between named views. If you have named views in your drawing, there is another way to quickly navigate between them rather than using the traditional command V (View). Instead, dock the View toolbar somewhere on your desktop. Although it is a 3D toolbar, at the end there is drop-down box with all named views conveniently available for quick selection. This works for 3D as well as 2D. NOTES FROM CADALYST TIP PATROL: The nice thing about toolbars is that you don’t have to remember the commands. If you are using AutoCAD 2009’s ribbon and don’t have the toolbars turned on, you can find this command in the ribbon. If you are using the 2D and Annotation workspace, go to the View tab, then the Viewports panel. All saved views are there. If you are using the 3D Modeling Workspace, go to the Home tab, View panel. Remember, you can pull ribbon panels out and use them like toolbars |
