Import part or all of a Microsoft Word document into AutoCAD.

Engineering Technician and CAD Manager Michael Miklaszewicz came up with a tip for importing a Microsoft Word document into a multileader in AutoCAD.

"A Word document, or part of a document, can be inserted into AutoCAD with a multileader. Just highlight the part of the Word document needed and use Ctrl+C to copy it. Open the Multileader command, and when prompted for text, use Ctrl+V to paste. The Word document is inserted as multiline text, and can be modified as necessary."

Notes from Cadalyst Tip Patrol:
Good old Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V — this was a huge innovation when AutoCAD became available for Windows. (In DOS — yes, I'm that old! — this wasn't an option for several reasons.) The Windows Clipboard means users can copy and paste almost any object, text, image, etc. from one file to another in AutoCAD. Be careful to check your formatting, styles, etc. when pasting text, however. The text could retain formatting from the source and apply it to your multileader text (or whatever type of text object you are inserting your selection into).

Good old trick, just one thing must be done in Word - set font style to System, that way pasted text will assume current AutoCAD text style
