Categories : Match Properties
Software type : AutoCAD 2013
Rename File To : No Files to download.
Apply the Match Properties command between two different files.

Frequent tipster Leonid Nemirovsky shares a tip about using AutoCAD's Match Properties tool.

"By sheer accident I found out that the Match Properties command works between all open drawings. Start the Match Properties command (not Layer Match), pick your source object, switch files, then apply."

Notes from Cadalyst Tip Reviewer Brian Benton: Who knew? It's actually very simple. To switch files I was able to use Ctrl+Tab, Alt+Tab, clicking on the Windows tab I wanted, or tiling the open AutoCAD files. I found that every method I used to switch files worked, except for the Quick View Drawings command and the Windows Key+Tab. It also did not work between multiple instances of AutoCAD.

[This appears to be the same Tip, and is from the same Tipster, as in numbers 3357 and 3518 that appear in the "Related CAD Tips" list.]
