Have you ever had a part or assembly and wanted to override mass of the object? This tip shows you how to override the mass properties of a part or assembly in Autodesk Inventor. This works well for parts that may have internal parts omitted or a part you created as blob without much detail.

• Go to the part or assembly you want to override the mass properties on.

• In the iProperties dialog box select the Mass box and type in the new mass you want the part to have.

• Pick Apply — no need to add lbmass, this is pulled from your style settings.

• If later you find you want the Mass set back to default, just pick the box again and delete the text and pick update.
