A very useful tip on migrating Autodesk Inventor settings from one machine to another.

Have you ever wanted to take the Autodesk Inventor options settings you have on one system and copy them to another machine? This tip will show you how to export and import these settings from machine to machine.

  • After configuring the settings to your preference, open Applications Settings. Select Export at the bottom of dialog box.

Open Applications Settings. Select Export at the bottom of dialog box.

  • Name the file, note and save the location (either on a server or thumb drive), click Save.

Name the file, note and save the location.

  • Go to the computer on which you want to replicate the Application Options. Open Applications Settings and select Import at the bottom of screen. Navigate the location of the file you saved and pick open. Your settings are now the same on both computers.

Open Applications Settings and select Import at the bottom of screen.
