A quick routine that creates a new layer for you if needed.

Frequent conributor Theodorus Winata is back with a nice routine that draws batt insulation. Start by loading the LISP file, then type in the command BATT. Pick two points, and enter or pick a width. The batt insulation will be drawn as a single polyline, on a layer named A_Insul whose color is green. If the layer does not exist, it will be created for you. These parameters can be easily changed to match your requirements.

Draws touching loops. Always draws on left side of "path" direction between first and second points. Draws complete cycles, overshooting second point in most cases. Remembers specified width and offers as default on subsequent use. Attached image is what it looks like. Type "Insulation" into Search window to find various other routines, with varying loop-width proportions, some with loops that don't touch, some that work on curves, some that adjust cycle length to match overall length, some that allow or require selecting an existing object as a path, some with different justification or that allow justification options, some that use different entity types, some that do and some that do not remember choices, etc., etc.

Thanks so much for this lsp. I had used DodoCAD for many years but it stopped working properly for C3D 2013. DodoCAD downnload included a similar lsp insulation program imbedded into a full menu tool similar to Express tools. (I use the C3D version due to my office, but I tailored it to be used like Architecture 2013) as my profession is Architectural Technologist. So after downloading this and setting it up in my 'Support file Search path' and my 'startup suite' it worked great. Kudos and thanks for your work done. I thought I would have to keep tediously making it by hand and arraying it over and over....aaaahhh!! Cheers.
