Cassandra Clouston explains how to easily get your AutoCAD layers into a spreadsheet file.
"Open Layer Properties Manager, press Ctrl+A to Select all, open Excel, press Ctrl+V, and viola — layers are presented in an easy-to-read format. This is a great method if you want to print, save, or learn company or client layer standards."
Notes from Cadalyst tip reviewer Brian Benton: It really is that easy to extract your layers into a spreadsheet. Open the Layer Manager, click on a layer (not in the filters) and press Ctrl+A. This will select all layers and their properties. Then press Ctrl+C to copy the information. Open a spreadsheet program, click on the topmost left cell, and press Ctrl+V. This will paste the data into the spreadsheet, save, and store it for a rainy day. |
