Make sure that text remains readable after mirroring.

Designer and CAD coordinator Robert L. Zipprich shares a tip on setting the MIRRTEXT system variable in AutoCAD.

“Do you know anyone who likes to read backwards text? One old tip I have relied upon for years is a revised Mirror menu item. I’m always mirroring text, and I want it to read the same as before, so I added ‘_Setvar MIRRTEXT=0; to the Mirror command in my menu."

Notes from Cadalyst Tip Reviewer Brian Benton: Leonardo da Vinci wrote his notes in a mirrored fashion to make it more difficult for others to read what he was writing! So he would probably set this variable to 1, which turns it on. When this system variable is on, then text will be mirrored when a text object is mirrored, using the Mirror command.
