This tip helps us stop wasting time browsing to the same folders time after time.

I created a new folder under the Favorites folder, and labeled it _My Projects. In it I place a shortcut to each of my current projects. I place a shortcut of the _My Projects folder on my desktop so that it is easy to get to when I’m using Windows Explorer.

I also use the Add Current Folder to Places option (in the AutoCAD open dialog box) to access the _My Projects folder. Using the same Add Current Folder to Places, I add folders in which I keep details, blocks, etc.

Notes from Cadalyst tip reviewer R.K. McSwain: I have watched users wasting time browsing to the same folders time after time. This is a great tip, which reminds us that Windows and AutoCAD both have locations to store shortcuts to wherever your design files are located. See also tips #3382 and #3076.
