Have you ever been in the bill of materials (BOM) and wanted to open a part that resides in the BOM? This tip will show you an easy way to open a part from the BOM in Autodesk Inventor.

• Open an assembly, and open its BOM. Find the file you want to open in the BOM and right-click it.

• You can also do this with the Parts list inside a 2D drawing. It just takes one extra step. Right-click on the Parts list and select Bill of Materials, then follow the above step to open the part.
