Quickly change the case of your text in AutoCAD.

Generally, we all type our notes in ALL CAPS in AutoCAD. However, there are times when you have to turn off Caps Lock – for example when sending an e-mail or searching the web. For those times when you go back to your drawing to type notes and forget to turn on your caps lock, there is an easy way to correct the text case without deleting everything and starting over. Highlight the notes you've just typed, right click the highlighted portion, and select Change Case. This works for mtext and dtext, and it saves a lot of time, effort, and head banging.

Notes from Cadalyst Tip Patrol: Good tip. I don’t know how many times I’ve typed an e-mail in all caps, or an mtext note in small caps. Follow the tip if you find you need to change your caps type in a note. Also, you can adjust your mtext settings so that you will always type in all caps in AutoCAD regardless of your keyboard’s caps lock setting. This is a great way to ensure you are always YELLING IN YOUR CAD FILES!

for us keyboarders... pressing CTRL+SHIFT+U will do the same...uppercase the lowers and L respectively to lower the case of the uppers.

When I highlight the notes all I get is a shortcut menu. I also tried the additional comment about pressing CTRL+SHIFT+U and I get a pop up about overlapping and it turns Polar on and off???? These tips must have certain settings set through OPTIONS.

Tom, Another way to get your mtext to go from lower case to UPPER case is to highlight the text in your mtext box and click on the button under "bold, italic, underline". There are 2 buttons "aA" and "Aa". Good luck!
