Edit dimensions quickly with these options.

Leonid Nemirovsky of the Better Than Nothing AutoLISP site sends us a tip that can help you edit your dimensions with a quick right-click in AutoCAD.

"All you have to do is select the dimension you want to edit. Then, right-click and there are a bunch of options for modifying dimensions without getting into a dialog box. The options are: Dim Text Position, Precision, Dim Style, and even Flip Arrows."

Notes from Cadalyst Tip Patrol: These options are there for a quick edit. Most of them are self-explanatory. The Dim Text Position will let you adjust the position of the dimension text. Precision changes how many decimals your dimension text displays. Dim Style will let you change the style used for that dimension. Finally, the Flip Arrows option changes the orientation of the dimension arrows. It will flip them from one side of the dimension line to the other.

Yes, this can be very useful especially for the precision option. Shame it doesn't include text editing though.

if you wish to edit the dimension, you can approach dim text override directly from within the quick properties (remember that for no loosing associativity you should quote the "<>" [measurement] within the overridden text). This is better than double-clicking the dimension (quicker). to use this method however, you will need the quick-properties on @ the time.
