Use the Draworder command to send selected external reference drawings to the back.

This LISP routine from Scott Botting will allow you to send selected external reference drawings to the back by using the Draworder command in AutoCAD. Load the LISP file and run the command XRD. The routine will automatically scan the drawing for xrefs in the current space (MS or PS) and present you with a list of them in the command window. Choose the one to process, then press Enter; it will be sent to the back using Draworder. Press Enter to repeat for other xrefs.

If you enter Xref number that is not listed, it will cause AutoCAD to hang and lock up. For example you only have 3 xref’s and you enter 33 by mistake it will hang and lock up.
