You can set the dimensional entities — such as dimension text, dimension line, and dimension extension line — to any color with these variable commands. To change the color of dimension text, type “DIMCLRT” at the Command prompt and add any color number from 0 to 256. Similarly, you can change dimension line with “DIMCLRD” and dimension extension line with the “DIMCLRE” command, then start dimensioning. You can see the dimensioning as color you have set, e.g., 1 = red, 2 = yellow, 3 = green.

Notes from Cadalyst tip reviewer R.K. McSwain: This is a quick way to make changes to your dimension style without going through the dialog boxes. Note that in most cases, when you change a dimension variable such as these, the current dimstyle will be modified to contain these overrides. If you later revert back to the saved dimension style, these color changes will be lost. If you want to save these changes to a new dimstyle, run the -dimstyle command, then use the "S" option.
