The use of dynamic block features can make your blocks more versatile.

Riding on the coattails of Levi Connolly’s tip #4374 regarding setting the default text for attributed blocks, I and fellow AutoCAD users have added functionality to this attribute and other text within the block. We have made the block dynamic by adding the move and rotate parameters to said attributes or text objects. By doing this, the end user can move or rotate the text when required. For example, if you need to rotate your block, you can adjust the text so that it reads correctly or, if the text just lands in a bad place or a dimension is running over it, you have the flexibility to move the text out of the way.

Notes from Cadalyst tip reviewer R.K. McSwain: Dynamic block features have been around a while now, but are probably underutilized. Things that Michael mentions, such as adding move and rotate parameters, can make your blocks much more versatile.
