Rosie Balusek, a drafting supervisor, used the Action Recorder in AutoCAD to save a series of commands to clean up files before saving them.
"Before saving each drawing, we run the Purge and Audit commands (plus a LISP routine to eliminate ghost text). I use the Action Recorder to save all the commands used before saving. I gave it a three-character command. It runs much faster this way."
Notes from Cadalyst Tip Patrol: Once your actions have been recorded with the Action Recorder tool, they can be saved and played back later on. You can even share them with your friends or coworkers. This tip is a simple but effective use of the Action recorder. Instead of running these three separate commands one after the other, just run one saved action. These little time-savers can make a big difference over time. |
