Here is a tip that allows you to save a section view of a model.

• Section views in the model state are temporary unless used in conjunction with design views. Once a model section view is created, the view is lost when you select the End Section View command. To save a section view, create it in a design view, and then save the design view -- but don’t select the End Section View command. This way, Inventor will save the section cut in the design view.  Remember that once a section view is created, it cannot be redefined. You need to recreate it to make changes.
