This tip will show you how to add a spreadsheet to your Autodesk Inventor part.

This tip will show you how to add a spreadsheet to your part. This method also can be an easy way to add parameters to your model.

  • Open a part and navigate to the Parameters tool.

  • Open Parameters and note the minimum amount of parameters in the model (only dimensions added to create the model).

  • Pick the link in the Parameters dialog box.

  • Navigate to a spreadsheet you have created, and select Open.

  • Note that there are now several new user parameters.

  • Note that the spreadsheet shows up in the browser. This can be an easy way to add common parameters to a model. You can delete the spreadsheet (right-click in browser), but the parameters stay behind.
