Andria Lynch shares with us a great way to count specific blocks in AutoCAD Architecture.
"To do a quick and simple block count in AutoCAD Architecture, simply highlight the block you wish to get a count of, right-click, and choose Select Similar. This shortcut will select all instances of that block (keep in mind that they need to be on the same layer). If you look at your Properties menu while all instances are selected, the pull-down menu at the top of the Properties palette will display in parentheses how many objects are selected. The quick Properties box will also display this information with block references."
Notes from Cadalyst Tip Patrol: That's the great thing about AutoCAD verticals: Typically, if it's in AutoCAD, it's in the vertical. Autodesk added the Select Similar tool in AutoCAD 2011. Basically, pick an object, right-click, then pick the Select Similar option. Any object in the file that is similar to the one picked will be selected. There is a filter setting where you can control the selection criteria, so you can change elements such as color, layer, etc. |
