if you use both AutoCAD and Inventor, you may want to synchronize the wheel zoom action to work the same in both programs.

Here is a tip to help users who use Inventor and AutoCAD together on a regular basis. Have you ever wondered why the default zoom for Inventor and AutoCAD are different? On one, if you use the wheel on the mouse to zoom in, you roll forward, and on the other, when you roll forward, you zoom out.

In Inventor, go to Application Options. In this example, I used the ribbon and picked Applications Options from the Tools tab.

In the Applications Options dialog box, pick the Display tab. Under Zoom Behavior, select Reverse Direction, and close the dialog box. Now when you use the wheel on the mouse to zoom in AutoCAD and Inventor, they will react the same way.

Notes from Cadalyst tip reviewer R.K. McSwain: Yes, if you use both AutoCAD and Inventor, you will probably want to synchronize the wheel zoom action to work the same in both programs.
