AutoCAD 2012 provides direct access to the capabilities of AutoCAD WS.

Tip reviewer and CAD blogger Brian Benton shares a tip about a new feature in the recently released AutoCAD 2012.

"Last year, Autodesk released AutoCAD WS, a mobile and browser-based version of AutoCAD (see Cadalyst's article from September). AutoCAD WS allows users to load DWG files to the cloud and share them. Multiple users can also open and edit the shared files simultaneously. The application's main purpose is for sharing and collaboration.

"AutoCAD WS is a great tool, and AutoCAD 2012 now provides direct access to it. Go to the Online tab in the ribbon and click the Upload button. This will upload your file to your AutoCAD WS account. You can also open a file into the browser, manage your online library, and view the timeline (a history of changes made to the online files). When you upload a file from inside AutoCAD, the changes will be updated in AutoCAD WS. There is also a plug-in available for AutoCAD 2010 and 2011 that will provide similar functionality."
