Here's how to modify a section so that it cuts only so deeply into an assembly or part.

Have you ever cut a section on a drawing only to have it show more in the background than you may have wanted included in the section? This tip will show you how to modify a section so that it cuts only so deeply into an assembly or part.

In the view below, section H-H shows both sets of pumps in the section view.



Right-click the section line and select Edit Section Properties.



In the Edit Section Properties dialog box, change Section Depth to Distance and pick a distance that will stop cutting to get desired results. You will get a preview line showing the cut distance.

Notice the updated section showing only the desired pumps.
