This tip will show you how to easily add the center of gravity to a view in Autodesk Inventor.

Have you ever wanted to add the center of gravity to a view in an IDW or DWG file in Autodesk Inventor?

This tip will show you how to easily add the center of gravity to a view. You can even add dimensions to the point that is added to the view.

  • Open or create a view that you want the center of gravity on. Find and expand the view in the Browser.

  • Right-click on the IAM or IPT that the view was created from, and select Center of Gravity.

  • Note the point that is added. This is the center of gravity. You can now add dimensions as needed.

  • Note if you want to turn it off, just right-click and deselect Center of Gravity. The dimensions associated with center of gravity will be turned off as well.
