Turn off dimensions in cluttered Inventor files to see the model more easily.

Tipster David Edward Gaskill shares some tips on working with busy Inventor files that have multiple sketches with a lot of dimensions.

"First, turn off all dimensions on the sketches; this makes seeing the model much easier (the dimension text bleeds out all geometry).

Next, turn off the visibility of all work features until you need them.

After turning off the visibility of all work features.

Locate the sketch you need in the browser, or by choosing a piece of geometry, right-clicking, and selecting Find in Browser. When you right-click and select Edit Sketch, the dimension visibility is turned back on so you can do your editing."

Notes from Cadalyst Tip Reviewer Brian Benton:
Working with your file is a must — but it can be difficult if it is cluttered with dimensions and such. Inventor has many features that aid in your design process, but sometimes they can get it in the way. Make sure that you properly manage these aids.
