R. Clayton Harrison sent this handy AutoCAD tip.
I’ve been using Ncopy for some time now. It allows you to copy objects nested within an Xref. I nearly always want the object to be in the exact place where it is in the Xref. This means you pick the item, set a base point, and then pick the exact point for the second point (or you can use @ for the second point). I accidentally ran into a quicker method. Enter the Ncopy command, select the objects that you want to copy (do not press enter to finish your selection), just hit Escape. The objects will be dropped in the same place where they were in the Xref.
Notes from Cadalyst tip reviewer R.K. McSwain: This is a really nice trick. As Clayton points out, many times you want to copy objects from blocks or Xrefs and place them in the same exact location, which is exactly what this allows you to do. |
